E! got details from a source about what the moment was really like for them, while TMZ reported that their engagement was filmed for the family’s upcoming Hulu reality show. TMZ was told that cameras were present for Barker’s beach proposal, and the family’s dinner after he popped the question was also captured for the show.

Meanwhile, E!’s source said Kardashian “had no idea” that Barker planned to propose that day. “It happened during the sunset at Rosewood Miramar,” the source said. “They had just got back from NYC [where Barker played on SNL] and decided to do a day trip to Montecito. Kourtney thought it was going to be a casual day, as they always go to Rosewood, and she was totally thrown off.” But once she saw the flowers, she knew the moment was going to happen.

Barker got down on one knee and “professed his love for her and thanked her for making him a better person,” the source said. “It was super emotional and sentimental. Kourtney was so happy and was definitely emotional. She teared up and couldn’t stop saying, ‘I love you.’”

Kardashian went on to post photos from the moment on her Instagram, captioning the post simply, “forever @travisbarker.”
