Talk about visual representation. Deadline dropped the news this week that LaLa Anthony has partnered with ITV America’s Leftfield Pictures to produce the Honeybeez docuseries for Snapchat.
Yes.
A docuseries with Snapchat and the Honeybeez.
And, listen… after last year’s inspirational video with Nike, we are here for this series… aren’t you!
If you are a plus size person, who loves to dance, loves the story and journey of the Honeybeez, or if you just love representation of a plus size dance crew bringing it, then you are in for a treat!
The Honeybeez of ASU
“The Honeybeez are an inspiration, not just among the HBCU dance scene, but to young dancers and performers everywhere…
Their impact and success are a result of immense determination and talent, all while projecting strength, positivity and love.
We can’t wait for Snapchat’s audience to get to know these amazing young women.” La La Anthony
The 10-part Snap Original series, The Honeybeez of ASU will be produced with the LaLaLand production house. Executive produced by La La Anthony; we will get a look into their journey through their 2019-2020 season.
“We’re ecstatic to be sharing this story, alongside La La and Snap, at a time in which we could all benefit from witnessing the unbridled perseverance and strength of character on display in each episode,” adds Leftfield Co-Presidents Shawn Witt and Gretchen Palek
The Docuseries, The Honeybeez of ASU, launches April 25th!
We get to learn a bit more about the team under the leadership of Coach Williams. We get a closer look at tryouts, performances, and the team dynamics of the Honeybeez team.
As someone who cheered and competed in college, this series will definitely take me back. BUT, seeing and watching a plus size dance team boldly stake their claim in mainstream media?
We are here for this excitement.
Make sure you give them a follow, too on IG at @asuhoneybeez!
The only question that we have for you is…
Are you tuning in to watch?
Better yet… will we get the scoop on who does their wardrobe? I need details!
