MONTH OF April
Cruel as it sounds, Aquarius, April is normally one of your most social months. With the Sun moving through Aries and your third house of communication and community until April 19, this would normally be a time that you get out in the ‘hood and circulate. And while we’ve all been getting by with Zoom group chats and online courses, that might start to wear thin. If you’re craving social contact, Aries season is your challenge to get creative.
Anything you can do with your hands (in addition to washing them!) will help keep your mind busy. Get into some DIY projects, like macrame or knitting, cooking, gardening. Pick up an instrument: Fender Guitars is offering three free months of lessons, and there are probably plenty of similar offers. By the time social distancing mandates are lifted, you could be rockstar-ready for your own band.
An intense moment arrives on April 4 when expansive Jupiter and transformational Pluto unite in Capricorn and your twelfth house of healing, closure and release. Buried emotions could surge up when you least expect them, inspiring a thorough internal cleansing. This is the first of 2020’s three rare Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions (the next two are on June 30 and November 12)—a mashup that only happens every 13 years. Jupiter rules exposed truths while Pluto rules secrets. Something you’ve been hiding or avoiding could come to light. No more sweeping it under the rug! A relationship could go through a big transition now—a uniquely awkward time if you’re living together and considering a split.
For many people, the lack of privacy from sheltering together has forced new levels of transparency. That could be uncomfortable for your free-spirited sign as you like to maintain a certain amount of emotional distance. This early April transit is an opportunity to adapt and let down your guard. Have you been hanging onto resentment? You may use this opportunity to do some major forgiveness work. Grudges, guilt, shame, blame: Consider letting any of that go now as Jupiter and Pluto set the stage for a breakthrough-level transformation.
If you’re mourning the loss of your normal life (or the loss of anything), give your emotions all the space they need. We loved this helpful post from the Harvard Business Review, “That Discomfort You’re Feeling Is Grief.” It explains how societal shutdowns have sent people through psychologist Elizabeth Kubler-Ross’ five stages of grief, and suggests a sixth one as a proactive solution for these unprecedented times.
Perspective could arrive at the April 7 Libra full moon, which illuminates your open-minded ninth house of personal growth and optimism. Download some positivity—and spread it around while you’re at it. This day has the potential to put your troubles in a greater context. These metaphysical moonbeams could reveal a TED talk, book or online course that totally reframes your mindset and helps you get back in the game. Tap your creativity and future-focused Aquarian spirt. You’ll start to see the glass half-full again…if not brimming with possibilities. The ninth house also happens to rule travel (er, let’s not go there) and entrepreneurship. A home-based business idea could sprout wings today.
Just watch for a curveball square between hotheaded Mars in Aquarius and your ruler, volatile Uranus (which is visiting your domestic zone). Tension could spike under your roof with a roommate or relative. Your effort to carve out some autonomous time and space could lead to unexpected aggravation and in-fighting. Stand your ground, but be careful not to be selfish or combative since Mars-Uranus contacts can drive up aggression. If you’re inspired by the full moon to revamp your home, be careful not to get overly ambitious and create even more chaos. A meditation nook or desk area is easy enough. Constructing new closets, painting or putting up drywall? Maybe not the best idea right this minute.
Midmonth, the Aries Sun gets into two tense squares, first with shadowy Pluto (on April 14) and then with outspoken Jupiter (April 15) in Capricorn. This is tantamount to a battle between left and right brain hemispheres, logic and intuition. Aries rules your intellectual third house while Capricorn governs the shadowy and subconscious twelfth. You may have a hard time distinguishing fantasy from reality near these dates.
At the Sun-Pluto square on April 14, a shady character could enter your orbit, promising something that sounds just a bit too good to be true. Watch that you don’t fall prey to a false guru or snake-oil seller. A friend or colleague may try to take advantage of your vulnerable state—and given your generous nature and desire to help everyone, you could be easy prey. Keep your guard up a bit today. Same for the April 15 Sun-Jupiter square, when your natural impulse to give can attract some “user-friendly” types. If you’re feeling exploited or pushed around, you may unleash harsh words. But is it even worth it to try to work this out? It might be best to just move on.
On April 19, the Sun moves into Taurus and your fourth house of domesticity and family. For the next month, you’ll be better able to tolerate any stay-home mandates. This is your annual time to nest and rest. Get out of those spinning thoughts and prioritize self-care. Carve out time to treat yourself to an erstwhile favorite activity, practice or beauty treatment. You’re likely to enjoy it twice as much!
The April 22 Taurus new moon could herald a fresh start with loved ones and your personal life. Plans to move or do major home renovation may be on hold, but if you’ve been looking to redecorate or rearrange, this is the perfect day. A female relative, possibly your mom or a mother figure, may play into events. Is it time to start on a clean page with someone close to you? If you’re struggling with rent or mortgage payments under the pandemic’s impact, this new moon can help you find relief or devise a way to ease the strain.
You may need to shake off the negativity of the day prior, though. On April 21, the Taurus Sun gets embroiled in a stressful square with Saturn in Aquarius and your first house of self. You might need to table a personal project “for the good of the group.” Maybe you’re frustrated by the physical limitations, feeling like one of your ventures has been derailed. There are two Sun-Saturn squares every year, and they can drive up pessimism. While giving yourself a reality check isn’t the worst idea, these harsh beams can make everything look stark and hopeless. Your best bet: Go back to the drawing board and streamline your plans. A whittled-down version of your vision might still be more than enough to start with.
On April 25, deep-diving Pluto begins its annual five-month retrograde, backing through Capricorn and your twelfth house of healing, closure and the subconscious until October 4. What’s lingering in your energetic space that’s not feeding your soul, Aquarius? From toxic people to bad habits to negative vibes, this is your opportunity to restore balance. Retrogrades highlight the past and people from our history. You may feel more nostalgic and even a little weepy. Dreams could be prophetic, perhaps with “visitations” or messages from departed loved ones. A reading with a spiritual healer or medium could provide astounding insight (just make sure you speak to someone with legitimate credentials—get recommendations).
Time to cut some codependent cords? Pluto’s retrograde here helps you take some distance where you’ve gotten overly enmeshed or perhaps have been enabling someone’s destructive behavior. If you’re turning to vices to self-soothe or get through your own troubling emotions, Pluto retrograde prompts you to step back and work with the proper coping mechanisms. From at-home wellness treatments to phone or online therapy, reach out to your resources instead of numbing out.
On April 26, the bold Sun and your ruler, unpredictable Uranus, will make their once-a-year conjunction (meetup) in Taurus and your fourth house of home, family and emotional foundations. All those feelings you’ve been keeping inside could surge up. Let them out, Aquarius. You’ll feel liberated once you get this off your chest! A change in your living situation could happen unexpectedly today—or, if you’re still sheltering in place, you may get struck by the urge to radically rearrange and redecorate. Sign up for a workshop on interior design, home styling or Feng Shui if you’re feeling extra ambitious or looking for a way to channel all your energy!
LOVE & ROMANCE:
Feeling caged in? It’s not just cabin fever, Aquarius. Randy and restless Mars is in your sign from March 30 to May 13. Traveling alongside the red planet is restrictive Saturn, making it feel like you’ve got one foot on the gas and the other on the brake. Frustration is certainly possible now, and it will need to be managed. You could bicker with bae a lot more than usual (Mars in your sign can make you agitated and combative) or struggle mightily with the no-touching and social-distancing policies when you’re craving full body contact. Find other physical outlets to channel some of this energy into, from yard work to home construction projects to small-space workouts, so you can prevent yourself from blowing up on your boo.
Adding to the unfairness, vixen Venus begins an extended trip to Gemini and your passionate, playful house from April 3 to August 7, a time when you should be out flirting and basking in a heaping helping of amorous attention. Sure, you can use the screens for that, but there ain’t nothing like the real thing. Get creative if you’re single. For couples, those regular date nights will need to be staged at home. Maybe you can’t get to your favorite restaurant, but could you recreate one of their best dishes in your own kitchen?
Venus normally visits each sign for about a month, but since the planet of amour will be retrograde (backward) from May 13 to June 25, she’ll spend an extra-long time in this zone. Venus turns retrograde every 18 months, which can be difficult for love; it’s a time when relationships hit rocky patches or require repair. Since retrogrades rule the past, an ex or two may resurface. Begin your preventive practices now by cutting ties with the toxic but tempting ones who periodically creep back around (usually just when you’ve finally gotten over them).
Do you foresee an issue blowing up into a bigger drama? Nip it in the bud NOW with kind but clear communication. Mars and Saturn in your sign urge you to be the direct, diplomatic adult here. Err on the side of over-communicating and making sure you truly understand where the other person is coming from.

MONEY & CAREER:
Good communication is more important than ever, especially if you’ve been sharing 24/7 space with the same people. With the Sun in Aries and your expressive third house until April 19, this is a time to really work through any tangled dynamics. Let that stuff go, Aquarius. With mature Saturn in your sign from March 21 to July 1, it’s time to be the adult in the room. Your creativity could become a powerful source of inspiration AND income near this date. Tune in and see what your imagination produces.

An opportunity to publish or teach could arise. Or, you might have an ingenious idea for a home-based business that will ride out the recession and allow you to earn money virtually. Could this be a family affair? When the Sun enters Taurus and your domestic zone on April 19, one of your relatives or roommates could turn out to be the perfect partner-in-crime. The April 22 Taurus new moon and an April 26 Sun-Uranus meetup could spawn your kitchen table empire!
