Roughly one month into 2019, the ever-so private Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn had their first public outing that photographers captured. The couple was shot leaving The Spaniards Inn in London’s Hampstead yesterday, “both in good spirits and gazing at each other” after spending a couple hours in the pub, according to the photo agency. It was a rainy day, so Swift was bundled up in a black coat, grey pants, and boots. She wisely wore a patterned scarf around her hair to keep it dry.

Alwyn, meanwhile, wore an open brown tweed jacket with black pants and sneakers. Together, the looks were chic, cozy, and very winter.

Alwyn and Swift were last seen publicly in January at the Golden Globes after parties, although they weren’t photographed together at any bash they attended. One guest tweeted that he saw the couple kissing at a party. That was exceptional as the two have generally been pretty reserved with their PDA: Swift has been shot holding Alwyn’s arm or hand at most.

This also isn’t Swift and Alwyn’s first date in London. In August, the two were photographed having a fancy dinner date at Hawksmoor steak restaurant in London’s Covent Garden. Swift wore a green dress then with a black belt and black clutch. And prior to that, the two were shot in June leaving a pub lunch date at The Flask in North London.

Alwyn and Swift both have big weekends in English capital ahead of them: Alwyn is nominated with The Favourite‘s cast for multiple awards at the BAFTAs tomorrow. Swift, meanwhile, is shooting Cats. Multiple sources told Us Weekly that because of Swift’s filming schedule, she will be skipping both BAFTAs and Grammy Awards, where Swift’s album Reputation is nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album.
