We’re now in the month of April, and that means Pokémon trainers can now befriend the mythical Darkrai in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

In order to do this, you’ll need to obtain the Member Card item – given out as a gift between 1st April and 1st May. To acquire this item, select ‘Get via Internet’ from the Mystery Gift option in Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl. Once this is done, you’ll need to fulfill specific conditions – such as entering the Hall of Fame or obtaining the National Pokédex.

When you’ve done this, travel to Newmoon Island where the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai will be waiting.

This distribution event was originally announced alongside the Arceus encounter:

“Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Pokémon Shining Pearl players must have a Pokémon Legends: Arceus save file on their Nintendo Switch system with all the main missions completed. They can then receive the Azure Flute item. After entering the Hall of Fame and obtaining the National Pokédex, players can go to the entrance of the Spear Pillar and the Mythical Pokémon Arceus will reveal itself.”
