Everything You Need to Know About FASHION’s Virtual Runway Competition, Slay The Runway II

In a co-production with Karim Olen Ash and XPOSED.

Got plans for July 30 at 8pm? You may want to cancel them so you don’t miss FASHION’s virtual runway competition, Slay The Runway II, a co-production with Karim Olen Ash and XPOSED and presented in association with Tide and Jean Paul Gaultier, in support of The 519.

Earlier this month, we put an official call out to Vogue Ballroom competitors and runway enthusiasts across Canada to send us their fiercest runway looks and walks. The only direction we gave was the theme:  #FreedomFabulousness. From there, it was entirely up to the contestants as to what that meant to them and how they expressed it through fashion and their walk.

After combing through all of the entries, we narrowed  it down to the top 10 and presented the finalists to our incredible line-up of judges. Moderated by Twysted Miyake-Mugler, the judges include Tamar Miyake-Mugler, supermodel and Canada’s Drag Race judge Stacey McKenzie and FASHION’s creative and fashion director George Antonopoulos.

Tune it to our IGTV at 8pm on Thursday, July 30, 2020 to watch the judging and discover the winner. The lucky winner will be awarded $500, and will feature in a future issue of fashion magazine. Jean Paul Gaultier is gifting limited edition bottles of Le Male to our first 10 entrants, as well as to the winner. Tide is generously donating a prize pack worth over $100 to the winner, as well as the winner of the fan favourite poll.

And speaking of the fan favourite poll, you’ll also get your chance to vote for your favourite submission. Once the runway competition has ended, we’ll be opening a people’s choice award right here on site. Stay tuned for more details.

Tide has generously donated to The 519, and is encouraging the Slay The Runway audience to do the same during our event by texting THE519 to 80100 or by clicking here.
